Kyra and Andrew are HUGE Disney fans so we were SUPER excited to find a magical shoe in the forest during a recent bridal shoot in North Carolina.  With 5 lights and 3 assistants, this was a production worthy of the Mouse himself. Special thanks to the rangers at the NC State Park and our buds Greg and Nat. ~Congrats guys!

For those of you who don’t know, half of our workload and daily routine involves print design. It’s a treat when we can combine a creative “side-shoot” when working on a scheduled project. Below is a recent example. Brian and Katy wanted to do a second engagement shoot (gotta come up with a cool name for these) to celebrate 4 years of marital bliss. We were honored because I had shot their first set PLUS they had just found out about the new addition to their fam (congrats guys).  After the normal shots were done, we put together this dream-sequence to be be used for an upcoming ad project…

W.C. are wrapping up a couple different projects and we wanted to get 2 different looks from this session. Their sound is often described as Old School Skating Rink Funk (by me) so we brought that flavor to our first set. Then for the finale we brought out the smoke and lights.

The results were sweet, the bbq was delicious (thanks E and BB-Cutie!) and now I’m going to take a nap. Thanks for checking out the blog. -brandon

Charlie is named after his Great Grandfather Charles; a much loved, funny,  gentle and  generous “family warrior” who we said goodbye to last August.

As you can see, he’s already got a little swagger~

It isn’t often that we get to do baby sessions but here are a few that we did recently for one-week-old, Miller. Hanging out with his proud parents was inspirational for my wife and I as we’re excited to enter this season as well.

After much rescheduling, as these things normally go, we were finally able to nail down time for this story. I consider this subject to be a good friend of mine with whom I have had the opportunity to build with over the last few years, both personally and creatively.

I was introduced to the legend by way of his music and more recently got to know the man, (Knowda)Verbs, behind the rhymes. This international recording artist once held a spot on the Gotee Records Label roster and is currently notching his place in the world of “creative outreach” as a missionary. Verbs is using creative workshops and other techniques to engage young people, globally and locally. His burden is to see young people “get the best out of a life that God has for them.”

I’ve realized that over the last few years I’ve had the opportunity to experience many different “hoods”. Man hood, husband-hood, and most recently, fatherhood. All of which I am grateful to God that He continues to walk with me to grow me in each. Patience is key in any process and at every one of life’s corners lies a point where patience presents itself to be processed in you. Normally We either take it on, or shake it off.

My old roommate was about to throw away this black & white picture of Ali. I asked him what was wrong with it he said, “Nothing, just didn’t want to have to lug it around in a move”.  I let him know that I would be glad to take it off his hands…so he wouldn’t have to move it around of course.

Not sure what the official name of the photograph is, but I have dubbed it ‘Fight the good fight’. For the most part I’m a morning person. I’m an avid believer that how your day ends depends on how it begins. Morning time is an opportunity to assume your stance and gain your footing before the elements of the day surround you and the activities of the day engulf you. That photograph is a visual of this. Me, I like to start with digging into my Bible and search out the scriptures to see where I need to open my life up to fine tuning… and hopefully follow suit. I love it when I read a verse I’ve read a hundred times, and suddenly it seems brand new; as life can be in Him.  –v

Many of you might know that the Canon 5dmk2 camera will record HD video. I hadn’t done much with mine in that regard but when my bud videographer, Jonathan Edwards asked me to help video a wedding; I jumped at the chance. The wedding was for Josh Farro (Paramore) and his bride, Jenna at the Carnton Plantation in Franklin TN. We had a blast capturing the magic their friends and family created that day.
